General Terms and Conditions of Rental

FULL PAYMENT IS MADE AT THE TIME OF BOOKING

Check in

Arrival times are from 2 to 6 pm.

Autonomous reception is possible at la maison de Valentine, not at l’appartement de Margot.
All arrivals after 8pm will be charged 50€ at check-in.

Check out

Departure times are before 11am.
On your departure, the apartment must be returned to its original state, with the kitchen cleaned and the dishes put away.
If this is not the case, we can deduct an appropriate amount from your deposit, depending on the condition of the house and the extra time required to restore it.

Duration and price

The duration of the rental period shall be agreed in advance by the parties. The lease cannot be extended without the prior agreement of the owner. The lease ceases automatically at the end of the agreed term.

On your arrival, you will be given the keys against payment of the balance of the rental if it has not been made beforehand, the tourist tax (2,30€/adult/night, scale as at 01/01/2024), the deposit, the police form and the contract acceptance.

Deposit

At the time of check-in at the apartment, a deposit of 200€ for stays up to 2 nights, 500€ for stays of 3 nights or more, must be paid by credit card, to ensure that the flat will be vacated in the same condition as it was before the rental. The deposit will be returned after departure, once the inventory of fixtures and fittings has been completed and at the latest 7 days after check out. The deposit can be totally or partially retained in case of damage caused by the client in the flat.

You will be informed in advance by e-mail of the amount of the deduction and the reason for the total or partial non-return of the deposit.

By booking at l’appartement de Margot or la maison de Valentine, you agree to the use of your deposit to pay for possible damages caused by you or your occupants and you will take responsibility for any damages that exceed the amount of the deposit.

The deposit also takes into account “normal” use of water, electricity and internet. The rental price includes a daily fee for electricity of 20kwh for l’appartement de Margot and 40kwh for la maison de Valentine. Beyond this, a deduction will be made from the deposit of 0,3€ per additional kwh. The electricity bill is taken at the end of each rental period by Linky. The same applies if you are using paid services from the Bbox Internet box.

Cancellation or changes

Cancellations or changes must be made by e-mail to reservation@lappartementdemargot.fr or reservation@lamaisondevalentine.fr. We do not accept cancellations or modifications by telephone. Changes can be accepted under the following conditions:

  • If you cancel or modify a reservation with less than one month’s notice before your arrival, you will be refunded the full amount. (e.g. a booking scheduled for the 15th of the month must be cancelled on the 14th at 11.59pm the previous month to be refunded). Below this date, no refund is possible.
  • If you do not show up at the flat, you will have to pay 100% of the total amount of the reservation.
  • If you change the date of the reservation, this will be considered as a new reservation and we will apply the cancellation conditions. If a booking is cancelled and replaced by another booking with dates later than the original booking, the one month notice of cancellation will be that of the original booking.

If the cancellation of the booking via the booking platform is more favourable, it will replace the one above.

If circumstances external to the flats prevent you from having access to l’appartement de Margot or la maison de Valentine (works, breakdowns, floods, fires, or any other cause of force majeure), the owner will not be held responsible for the obligation to accommodate you. In this case, you will receive a full refund of the amount you have paid less, if applicable, the number of days you have used in the flat. The owner will not assume any responsibility for the total or partial cancellation of the reservation.

Occupation number of people and child policy

You must indicate the number of people staying in the flat. It is forbidden to occupy the accommodation with more people than the number declared at the time of booking.

Booking for 2 persons means that you occupy only one bed. If the second bed is occupied, the reservation for 2 persons will be charged 20€.

In case of non-respect of this rule, the owner reserves the right to immediately adjust the payment according to the additional persons or to deduct it from the deposit. If the client refuses, this will be considered as a cancellation under the conditions set out above.

A child under 2 years old sleeping in the parental bed is free of charge. An umbrella bed is available on request at the time of booking.

Pets

Pets are strictly forbidden in the flat. In the event of non-compliance with this rule, the owner reserves the right to cancel the reservation under the conditions set out above.

Cleaning

The flat is clean on arrival. On your departure, you must leave it in the same condition as it was when you arrived, in particular with the kitchen cleaned and the crockery clean and tidy. If you do not leave the apartment in the same condition as it was when you arrived, we may deduct an appropriate amount from your deposit, depending on the condition of the flat and the extra time required to clean it.

Rules of good living

We invite you to respect the essential rules of living together with our neighbours, in particular to:

  • Be discreet in the common areas,
  • Keep the volume of noise down after 10pm and until 8am (no loud music, keep your voice down),
  • Take off your shoes to limit the impact on the floor,
  • Prevent objects from falling on the floor (bags, balls, toys, etc.) and the noisy movement of chairs and armchairs,
  • Do not use the dishwasher or washing machines between 10pm and 8am,
  • Do not move furniture and objects,
  • Parties and receptions are strictly forbidden and are liable to be dismissed immediately by the owner or the police, without any warning and under penalty of potential legal proceedings by the service providers, in the event of infringement.
  • Smoking is strictly forbidden in the flat.

It is strictly forbidden to throw any kind of objects such as cotton buds, sanitary napkins and tampons, condoms, …, into the toilet instead of throwing them in the garbage. Only toilet paper (but sparingly) should be put in the toilet bowl. In the event of a blocked toilet, you will be responsible for unblocking it by an outside party and, in the worst case, for ordering a truck equipped with a high-pressure water jet system at a cost of €1,500 including VAT.

You are requested to allow us to carry out all repairs whose urgency and necessity do not allow their postponement during the rental period. You are obliged to inform us by telephone on +33 6 46 00 44 43 or by e-mail at reservation@lappartementdemargot.fr  or reservation@lamaisondevalentine.fr of any damage or deterioration occurring on the rented premises, even if no apparent damage results.

If the rules set out in this contract are not respected by the holder of the reservation and its occupants, the owner reserves the right to ask the clients to abandon the accommodation immediately and to cancel the reservation without the client being able to claim compensation for the implementation of this measure. This directly implies the loss of the deposit as well as the previously paid rental cost.

The owner is not responsible for any damage, direct or indirect, due to misuse by the tenant(s), including loss of property due to theft, breakage or any other damage.

Booking at l’appartement de Margot or la maison de Valentine implies absolute acceptance of these terms and conditions.
